Behold the Power of an Educated Consumer!
By Michelle Church, ChurchMouse Media

We all love the internet - it's addictive, fun, informative and one of the most powerful tools available to the consumer. How have you kept on the cutting edge to influence potential clients?

Consider...

... design. What does your website design say about your company? Is it consistent with your other collateral?

... content. Do you SHOW or do you tell visitors how effective you are?

... technology. Does your website have a 'WOW Factor 'to impress your clients, or is it too cluttered with flashy elements that become distracting?

Here's a video we produced for a local real estate agent. She got this listing because she uses this unique and cutting edge technology.

Keep putting yourself in the consumer's seat. Does your website provide enough information to inspire a purchase?

I’M HUNTING ELEPHANTS - PEOPLE WITH BIG DREAMS WHO DON’T WANT TO WORK FOR PEANUTS!
by Robin Chew

Do you have big dreams? You are either working to fulfill your dreams or you’re working to fulfill someone else’s dreams. My husband and I are working to fulfill our dreams and love every minute of it.

Do you want to earn extra money or replace your JOB (just over broke), but don't have time for "parties" and don't want to "sell" to your friends? You are invited to discover how Arbonne can fulfill your dreams and give you financial and time freedom! There is an incredible new approach to the business, letting people try the products and see for themselves, that has taken this to a whole new level.

Hello - I’m Robin Chew, Executive Area Manager and Independent Consultant with Arbonne International. I invite you to Discover Arbonne International.

Arbonne is a 25 year old Tradition of Phenomenal Products and People. We offer Personal Care, Anti-Aging, Nutrition, Weight Loss, Aromatherapy Products & Natural Balancing Creams. Arbon means “Good Things from the Earth”. We do NO animal testing, we use NO animal products or animal by products and we do NOT use Mineral Oil. We have only Pure, Safe, Beneficial products for Men, Women and Children. Arbonne’s product line includes both inner and outer health and beauty products that are unparalleled in quality, safety, value, benefits and results. Go to www.arbonne.com and check out the ‘Before and After’ Success Pages.

My 1st passion with Arbonne is to help educate others of the importance of Natural Balancing Creams and the Difference in Ingredients. We must be proactive with our bodies. We only get one! Our skin is our largest, living organ so we must be label readers and monitor what we put on it. We also need to use natural balancing creams to balance our bodies inside.

My 2nd passion with Arbonne is the Business Opportunity and helping people dream again. Arbonne allows me to provide a loving environment for my family while gaining the financial and time freedom I desire and deserve.

Arbonne International is truly a gift that I share with everyone I care about. If you knew what I know about Arbonne, NOTHING would stop you from being involved. Please call me if you want to discover the Gift that Arbonne can provide for you. Go to my website and look at my calendar of events for a “Discover Arbonne” event nearest you.

Spice up Your Website
By Michelle Church

Looking for something cool to make your website really stand out? Consider adding audio or video to a few of your pages. It's much more personal than a picture and text, and it allows visitors to make a connection with you on a mostly silent World Wide Web.

You may have noticed FortCollinsMagazine.com has quite a few audio samples now. (See Get Coached and Entertain Me ) Pretty slick, eh? Brad and Kathy have a clip of one of their new songs off their recently released album, and Coach Gerry Schmich has some great words for recent college grads, as well as small business owners.

Consider video online - Here's a video we produced for Estes Park Outfitters who needed more than pictures to emphasize the benefits of their services. Click play to see the video.

For more information about adding video and audio to your website (at an amazing rate!), contact Michelle Church with ChurchMouse Media. michelle@churchmousemedia.com

Brainstorm!
By Karen Marcus, Word Nerd

The Word Nerd's trusty dictionary (Webster's New World Dictionary, Second College Edition) defines "storm" as, "an atmospheric disturbance characterized by a strong wind, usually accompanied by rain, snow, sleet, or hail, and, often, thunder and lightning."  The term "brainstorm" actually describes a very similar process!  Turning your attention to getting down on paper everything you can think of regarding a particular topic creates a "brain disturbance" because it interrupts and displaces your normal flow of thought.  The rain, snow, sleet, and hail are analogous to your ideas spilling forth.  And the thunder and lightning are like the really good ideas that propel you in exciting new directions.  While it is simple to get out a piece of paper (or your favorite electronic device) and start writing, it is often helpful to use a prompt to get you started, especially for those who are unaccustomed to writing, or who experience anxiety at the thought of "just writing."  Here are some good starting points to launch your next brain storm:

Make a list.  Say you are writing a business plan for your company.  Of course, there are templates out there to help you get organized.  But, to start your brain thinking in a different direction, you may want to begin with a list of things you want your company to accomplish within the next year.  Or the qualities of people you'd like to hire.  Or the other companies that do anything remotely related to what your company does.

Doodle.  For those of you who are more visual than verbal, begin your brainstorming with drawing, and transition into writing.

Give yourself a starting point.  Make up some sentence beginnings, and then fill them in.  Say you're writing a report about your last project.  Some good sentence beginnings might be, "The worst thing about this project was," "The best thing about this project was," "If I could change one thing about this project, it would be," "The project goals I met were," "The project goals I failed to meet were," "The results of this project were," etc.

Start with what you do know.  Write everything you know about a topic, and use those musings to launch into new directions.  For example, say I'm a restaurateur crafting a mission statement.  I know my mission is to bring good quality, great service, and a fun atmosphere to my customers.  But, what is a fun atmosphere?  One in which people feel relaxed, and in which they can do more than just dine (e.g. play songs on a jukebox).  But, what does it mean to be relaxed?  And so on.

Write what hasn't yet been written.  If you're writing a document that just isn't working, ask yourself if it's because there are areas you've been unwilling to explore.  Ask yourself what hasn't yet been written, and write it!  For example, say your resume just isn't attracting potential employers.  Could it be you've left something out?  Something important?  Something you've been embarrassed to mention, like your tireless volunteer work, the book you wrote, or the awards you received at your last job?

Think of brainstorming not as a chore, but as a "warm up" before the "exercise" of writing.  It's a great way to get yourself in "writing mode," and generate some ideas you may otherwise miss.

Word of the Month

See how many times this week you can use the following word in a sentence:

PRIDIAN (PRIH-dee-un):  (adjective) Pertaining to yesterday or a previous day.  "I'm still recovering from our pridian bike ride."
